Junkers Ju 88D-5 |
This aircraft was "re-restored" several years ago in the markings which it wore when two Rumanian pilots defected with it in 1943. The restoration team did a fantastic job, as the closeups will show. One interesting point is that the cockpit is still sparsely equipped... when looking through the nose, it's clearly evident that the instrument panel is still bereft of gauges. Photographed in November 2004 at the US Air Force Museum.
