Republic YP-47M Thunderbolt 42-27385

Photographed at the Yanks Air Museum in Chino, CA.  This aircraft has a very interesting history... it was the first actual airframe to be upgraded to P-47M standards, with 42-27386, 387, and 388 being the other trials aircraft for the M model.  Postwar, it was purchased by Earl Odom who made an abortive attempt to compete in the 1947 Bendix cross-country race.  It was then based with Earl Reinert in Illinois until purchased by Charlie Nichols of the "Yankee Air Corps" in 1985.  Restored to airworthy condition in 1987, it is in absolutely immaculate shape, and is the only P-47M in existence, so far as I know.  (Thanks to Joe Baugher's site for details on the aircraft's history)
