The following photos have been taken by Dave Macdonald of "red 3", the Bf109G-6 of Ernest Pleines which will be displayed in Warsaw, Poland.  Coded "red 3" with Jagdgruppe West and carrying the Stkz. RQ+DS , the aircraft was recovered in 1999 from Lake Trzebun (near Danzig).  (Thanks to Mikael Olrog for that bit of info)

The following series of photos date from 1999, and show the condition of the airframe as recovered, along with Pleines' personal effects and the progress of the restoration to that point.  The picture of the uncluttered DB605 engine block mounted to the airframe is quite instructional for those wishing to build a 109 with an exposed engine!
