Bf 109E-7 W.Nr.3579

I'll admit it, I'm biased...but until someone finds one of Hartmann's or Galland's 109s, 3579 stands

as the most historic and significant example of ANY German aircraft by virtue of it's association

with the "unrivalled virtuoso of Luftwaffe fighter pilots", Hans Jochaim Marseille.  He flew this

aircraft on a number of occasions with 1.(J)/LG1 during the Battle of Britain prior to transferring to JG27.

The aircraft now resides with David Price in southern California (now listed with Paul Allen in Washington... confirmation would be MOST welcome).

The photos below come from a myriad of sources; some from my regional neighbor Erik Whipple, some from Dave McDonald, and some from a good fellow in Taiwan who wished to contribute as well.  New submissions are always welcomed, of course!
