Bf 109E-3 W.Nr.4101

This genuine Battle of Britain survivor was force-landed by Wolfgang von Teumer of 2./JG51, and the aircraft was repaired and flight-tested by the RAF as DE200.  The canopy is an old film prop according to Dave Wadman, and the tail unit is not the original unit from 4101.  That aside, it's still a fantastic and significant survivor, one which we're lucky to have around!

The following shots were sent in by Jerry Boucher, a fantastic "virtual reality" artist and fellow 109 nutter...

But wait, there's more!   Laurent Boulestin proves the value of being in the right place at the right time with these FANTASTIC detail shots of 4101's DB601 uncowled... fantastic detail to be seen here!  Note that the orange-ish hue visible on some of the engine components is actually a preservative applied by Museum staff.
